Does divorce take effect if I swore to my wife by divorce that I would not install the kitchen, and then my father compelled me to install it?

If the kitchen was not installed, then the oath is not broken. Obedience to parents is obligatory, but it is restricted to what does not cause harm to the son.

However, if the kitchen was installed, then you refer to your intention at the time of the oath: - If you intended that you would not install it yourself, and someone else installing it does not cause harm, then the oath is not broken. - If you intended that it would not be installed at all, then the oath is broken by your father installing it.

Swearing by divorce falls under the ruling of conditional divorce, and divorce occurs by it according to the majority of jurists (which is the relied-upon opinion), whether the husband intended divorce or not. Sheikh al-Islam Ibn Taymiyyah chose an expiation for an oath in this case.
