What is the ruling on a wife refusing to communicate with her husband's father, and her husband asking her to rectify what she has spoiled with him, and is the husband sinful if he withholds financial support from her until she does so?

A wife is not obligated to obey her husband regarding communication with his father, according to Islamic law, because a wife's obedience to her husband is only obligatory in matters related to marital life. However, since the husband's father is the wife's maternal uncle, he is one of her kin (dhawu al-arham), and she must maintain ties with him if she has severed them. The least form of maintaining ties is to stop abandoning him and to connect through words, even if it's just by greeting him. If a wife disobeys her husband in matters where she is obligated to obey him, she is considered rebellious (nashiz). Expelling a wife from the house and preventing her return is not permissible, nor is withholding her financial support unless she is rebellious.
