Is it a Sunnah to carry the head of the deceased when accompanying the funeral procession?

I do not know of any Sunnah from the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, regarding this. However, the statements of the scholars regarding the method of "quadrature" (carrying the bier from its four corners) in carrying a funeral procession imply that the head of the deceased should be in front.
