It is not permissible for a lawyer to lie, offer a bribe, or defend an oppressor whom he knows to be guilty. There is no objection to a lawyer representing his colleagues in some cases or to them ceding cases to him. However, it is not permissible for one lawyer to abandon his case for another to win, unless the truth is on the latter's side. The lawyer's work must adhere to the guidelines.
