Does a Muslim supplicate when putting on each piece of clothing, or is it sufficient to supplicate once for all garments, following the example of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him?
There are two supplications when wearing clothes:
The first is for wearing a new garment, and it is: «O Allah, to You be praise. You have clothed me with it. I ask You for its good and the good for which it was made, and I seek refuge in You from its evil and the evil for which it was made.»
The second is for wearing any garment (new or old), and it is: «All praise is due to Allah who clothed me with this garment and provided it for me without any power or strength from me.»
The supplication is said once for all pieces of clothing when wearing them.
