Is it permissible to take money for washing, shrouding, praying over, and burying the deceased, and for reciting the Quran for three nights, knowing that this is a customary practice in the country?

It is permissible to take payment for washing, shrouding, burying, and carrying the deceased, although it is disliked by the Hanbalis. As for offering prayers or reciting the Qur'an for the deceased, it is not permissible to take payment for them, as they are acts of worship, and this is by the agreement of most scholars. If the financial compensation includes prayer or Qur'an recitation, then the entire compensation is unlawful, because if a transaction combines what is unlawful and what is lawful, the unlawful prevails.
