What should I do to atone for my sin, and how do I get rid of my lust, and am I obligated to feed 60 needy people or fast for two months, and how do I know that Allah is pleased with me?

Adultery is one of the most heinous sins and major transgressions, especially if committed by a married woman. However, Allah accepts sincere repentance and rejoices in it, transforming misdeeds into good deeds. Repentance involves abandoning the sin, regretting it, and resolving not to return to it, while maintaining discretion and avoiding public disclosure. There is no requirement for expiation through fasting or feeding the poor. The repentant person must avoid the causes of sin, block all paths leading to it, refrain from laxity in interactions with non-mahram men, utilize time profitably, and abstain from masturbation. If a man whose religiosity and character you approve proposes, do not hesitate to accept him as a husband, for marriage is obligatory for those who fear falling into forbidden acts.
