ما المقصود بـ "حياة الصلاة والصلاة الحياة"؟

The true life from which a servant benefits is found in the worship and obedience of Allah Almighty, foremost among which is prayer. Whoever falls short in it or neglects it has diminished their true life to the extent of their negligence. Allah Almighty says: (Is he who was dead and We gave him life and made for him light by which to walk among the people like one who is in darknesses, never to emerge therefrom?), and Allah Almighty says: (O you who have believed, respond to Allah and to the Messenger when he calls you to that which gives you life). So, whoever responds to Allah and His Messenger attains the true life, while whoever indulges in sins will find their heart benefiting from this life only with an animalistic existence. Ibn al-Qayyim said: "Beneficial life is only attained by responding to Allah and His Messenger, and whoever does not achieve this response has no life." Prayer is the greatest pillar of Islam after the two testimonies, and it was the delight of the eye of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him. Maintaining it is among the most important duties of a servant, and it is one of the fundamentals of responding to Allah and His Messenger. Whoever neglects it diminishes their true life to the extent of their negligence or waste.
