The answer

"Interlacing the toes during ablution (Wudu') is a Sunnah (prophetic tradition). It is recommended to do so with the little finger (pinky), though it is permissible with other fingers. This is particularly emphasized for the feet, due to what was narrated from the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him: "Perform ablution thoroughly, and interlace the fingers." This was also practiced by the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, as Al-Mustawrid ibn Shaddad saw him rubbing his toes with his little finger during ablution."
