What is the ruling on unifying body color to the color of vitiligo permanently after the failure of multiple vitiligo treatments?

Unifying body color to treat vitiligo involves removing melanin pigment from healthy skin to make the entire body white. Treating vitiligo-affected areas is permissible, based on the hadith of Arfajah ibn As'ad, who had a nose made of gold, and the hadith of Ibn Mas'ud, "except for a disease." However, unifying body color by whitening healthy areas might be considered altering Allah's creation. Yet, the preponderant view is permissibility if it serves as a treatment for the body and achieves an acceptable, moderate color.
