Was there a barrier between the rows of women and men in the Prophet's Mosque?

During the time of the Prophet, peace be upon him, women used to pray in the mosque behind the rows of men, and there was no barrier or separation between the rows of men and women. This is indicated by the Hadith of Umm Salamah and Anas ibn Malik, and the Hadith of Ibn Abbas, which pointed to some men looking at a beautiful woman who was praying behind the Prophet, peace be upon him. Also, the Hadith of Sahl ibn Sa'd, which forbade women from raising their heads before men for fear of exposing their 'awrah (private parts).
