Is a shortened prayer to be made up in full or shortened upon returning home?

Whoever missed a prayer while traveling and makes it up while at home (not traveling) should make it up shortened, just as if they had prayed it while traveling. This is the preponderant opinion. This includes four scenarios: remembering a travel prayer while traveling (shortened), remembering a resident prayer while at home (completed), remembering a travel prayer while at home (shortened), and remembering a resident prayer while traveling (completed). It is important to note the great significance of prayer and the impermissibility of delaying it beyond its time except for combining prayers. Thus, whoever slept through a prayer or forgot it should pray it immediately upon remembering it. The Qur'an and Sunnah have emphasized the importance of prayer and the seriousness of neglecting it.
