He made these names to be invoked by them, whether in a prayer of supplication (du'a mas'alah) or a prayer of worship (du'a 'ibadah). The name "Al-Baseer" (The All-Seeing) is one of these names, and it means the One from whose perception nothing is absent, no matter how subtle or hidden. Knowledge of this name instills fear of Allah and mindfulness of Him in secret and in public, and a sense of shame at being seen by Him in disobedience.
