Did the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, pray the Sunnah first or break his fast first after performing the obligatory Maghrib prayer in Ramadan?

The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, used to break his fast with fresh dates. If he did not find fresh dates, then dried dates. If not, then water. Then he would pray the obligatory prayer in the mosque and the supererogatory prayers at home. He used to pray the supererogatory prayers before and after Dhuhr, and after Maghrib and Isha at his home, and two rak'ahs after Jumu'ah. There is no specific sunnah regarding eating after the Maghrib prayer. If food is present and a Muslim fears that his mind will be preoccupied with it, he should eat first, then pray the supererogatory Maghrib prayer. The time for the supererogatory prayer extends with the time of the obligatory prayer.
