How can I distinguish between menstrual blood (hayd) and irregular bleeding (istihada), and when should I pray or refrain from praying, given my continuous irregular monthly cycle?

These discharges are the yellowish and brownish discharges. They are considered menses if they occur during the usual period, or if they are connected to blood and do not exceed 15 days with it. Otherwise, they are not considered menses, and one must purify oneself from them, perform ablution, and pray. If they are continuous, then their ruling is the same as that of one who suffers from incontinence: she performs ablution after the time for prayer begins and prays with that ablution the current obligatory prayer and whatever supererogatory prayers she wishes. She is not required to change the bandage with every ablution, according to the preponderant opinion.
