Is it Islamically permissible to genetically screen embryos before implanting them to avoid inheriting cancer-causing genes?

Artificial insemination is permissible when there is a need for it, such as fear of the newborn being afflicted with a hereditary disease, provided that the sperm and egg are taken from the spouses, and fertilization occurs externally, after which the fertilized egg is implanted in the wife's womb, or the husband's sperm is injected into his wife's vagina or womb, while observing the necessary precautions and controls, and that it is not resorted to except in cases of extreme necessity.
