Is performing the Sunnah once sufficient for it to be considered as having been put into practice?

Scholars have differed on whether a command necessitates repetition. The correct view is that it does not necessitate repetition unless there is an indicator [to that effect]. Rather, one is absolved of the command by performing the action once. This applies to commands concerning obligatory acts (wājibāt) and Sunnah acts. If a command is contingent upon a condition, then it is [to be performed] according to what the condition linguistically indicates. It is befitting for whoever receives knowledge of a meritorious deed (faḍāʾil al-aʿmāl) to perform it, even if only once, so that they may be among those who are worthy of it.
