Is prostration required every time a verse of prostration is repeated during memorization, or is once sufficient?

Scholars have differed regarding the repetition of the prostration of recitation (Sajdat al-Tilawah) when the verse of prostration is repeated. The correct view is that a single prostration suffices to avoid hardship and difficulty. This is the madhhab of the Hanafis and was chosen by Sheikh Ibn Uthaymeen. So, if the verse is repeated in a single session, one prostration is sufficient. However, if it is repeated in two sessions, the prostration should be repeated. The prostration of recitation is a Sunnah and not obligatory. Therefore, if the reciter repeats the verse for memorization, the first prostration suffices for the subsequent repetitions.
