The majority of scholars hold that an absolute command—one that is devoid of accompanying indicators—does not necessitate repetition. Compliance is achieved by performing the act once. However, if the command is qualified by a condition or a description, then it necessitates repetition whenever that condition or description recurs. Repetition may also be desirable for other considerations, even if the absolute command itself does not entail it.
