Is it permissible for a mother to use a recipe consisting of Qur'anic verses and supplications recited over water for her mother-in-law to drink without her knowledge, with the aim of alleviating problems, taking into account that the source of the recipe is a woman who deals with the unseen and may be a disbeliever?

It is not permissible to seek solutions for problems from sorcerers, nor to visit them, question them, or believe them. Rather, problems with the mother-in-law should be addressed by seeking refuge (with Allah) from her evil, by engaging her in dialogue and convincing her to stay away from problems, by treating her with kindness, by responding to her ill-treatment with goodness, and by seeking advice for her from those who can influence her. It is not permissible to seek treatment from those who claim to know the future.
