Is it permissible for the Udhiyah to be an animal that has one, two, or three days left [to reach the required age], such as a lamb born on the 11th, 12th, or 13th of Jumada al-Akhirah?

It is a condition for the sacrificial animal (Uḍḥiya) to reach the age specified by Islamic law. The sacrifice is not valid if it is less than the required age, even if the deficiency is slight. This is the opinion of the majority of jurists.

The basis for this is the saying of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him: "Do not slaughter except a musinnah (an adult animal), unless it is difficult for you, in which case slaughter a jadha' (young one) of sheep."
