Is it permissible to annul a marriage due to the wife's epilepsy, given that the husband was not informed of this until after the marriage?

Epilepsy is one of the marital defects that establishes the option (of annulment). If one spouse conceals their epilepsy and the other spouse does not learn of it until after consummation, the latter has the option to either continue the marriage or annul it. If the marriage is annulled after consummation, the woman is entitled to the mahr (dowry), and the husband can claim it back from the one who deceived him. The option (of annulment) is forfeited if epilepsy can be treated and disappears, or if the other party accepts the defect after becoming aware of it. Patience is advised in this matter, and efforts should be made to treat the wife, especially if she is of good character and religious devotion.
