"Is it permissible to give points or discounts to a user of an e-commerce application in exchange for inviting others to register in it, and is there a legitimate (Sharia-compliant) way to reward a customer for inviting his friends, and what is the ruling on invitation without any return? "

"Praise be to Allah.

An application user is allowed to invite his friends in return for a commission, points, or a discount under two conditions:

1- His subscription to the application is free; otherwise, it would be gambling.

2- The commission must be known, because it falls under the category of Ja'ala, which requires the compensation to be specified.

Thus, the commission cannot be unspecified points or discounts; rather, the value of the point or the amount of the discount must be clarified.

If the invitation is free without any compensation, it is permissible, provided that it is clear and the inviter is aware that they are doing it voluntarily without any benefit returning to them."
