Does a divorce that has not yet occurred, and which is being discussed hypothetically between a couple rather than seriously, take effect?

Talaq (divorce) does not occur by merely uttering it as a promise or recounting it, or similar expressions that do not intend to initiate a divorce. The spouses should live together amicably and strive for what brings affection between them, and beware of what opens the door for Satan to sow discord between them.
