Is Fatwa No. 325834, concerning the ruling on divorce for an individual afflicted with obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), applicable even if he was not specifically suffering from divorce-related obsessions at the time, but rather from a constricted chest resulting from obsessions concerning all his affairs, and another obsession to which he alluded by saying: "If I had considered it against myself, her separation would have been easier for me"?

Divorce does not occur unless you pronounce it while being aware, of your own free will, and not under duress. If you merely think about it without uttering it, or if you pronounce it under duduress, or if you lose awareness due to waswasah (obsessive whispering) or other reasons, then your divorce is not effective. If you doubt whether you pronounced the divorce while being aware and of your own free will, then disregard this doubt, because the original state is the continuation of the marriage.
