What is the ruling on a son refusing to buy headphones for his father and repair his television, knowing that his father uses them to watch and listen to unlawful things?

It is recommended to supplicate frequently for your father to repent, especially from abandoning prayer, due to the gravity of this sin. He should also be advised in the best manner, as Ibn Muflih said: "He enjoins his parents to do good and forbids them from evil... If he sees his father doing something he dislikes, he should inform him without harshness or offense." Regarding bringing headphones or repairing the television, obedience to him is obligatory unless it is known that he will use them for something forbidden, because there is no obedience to a creature in disobedience to the Creator, and one must apologize politely. As for not turning off the television when musical advertisements are broadcast, advice should be offered concerning this, and it is not considered direct assistance to the forbidden if it is not intended.
