Is making caricatured figurines of people's faces, and placing them on pre-selected bodies, as a souvenir or a gift, permissible or forbidden?

Figurines in the form of the known human image are impermissible, and making them is one of the gravest sins, due to the Prophet's (peace be upon him) saying: "Indeed, the most severely punished people on the Day of Resurrection will be the image-makers." (Agreed upon). Trading in them, profiting from them, acquiring them, and gifting them are all forbidden. Whoever makes an image, Allah will punish him until he breathes a soul into it, and he will never breathe a soul into it.
