What is the ruling on defeathering chickens by placing them in hot water after slaughter, and does that lead to the impurity of the chicken, citing as evidence the hadith of Maymunah regarding the mouse that fell into the ghee?

If chicken is placed in water before it is cleansed of thedraining blood, it becomes impure according to the consensus of scholars. If the water is very hot, the impurity spreads into the chicken's parts, and it cannot be purified thereafter. However, if the chicken is cleansed of impurity before being placed in water, it does not become impure.
