هل صحيح أن عمر بن الخطاب لم يقتل مشركًا واحدًا، وإذا قتل فمن هم؟

1 min readAlso available in العربية

The difficulty in enumerating the names of the polytheists killed by the Companions lies in the fact that books of Seerah (Prophetic biography) and history do not detail this extensively. Knowing this does not benefit a Muslim; rather, it suffices to know that the Companions, through whom Allah made the religion victorious, were examples of courage and sacrifice. Umar ibn al-Khattab, may Allah be pleased with him, is among the most prominent of these; his conversion to Islam was a source of strength for Muslims, and the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, gave him the title of Al-Farooq (the Discerner). He also emigrated openly, unlike the rest of the Emigrants.
