What is the ruling of Islamic law on supporting a specific party in the Libyan conflicts, and what is the view of Islamic law on the "Shura Council of Benghazi Revolutionaries" and the "Muslim Brotherhood," which are described as extremist and as revolting against the ruler?

To issue a ruling in such situations, one must have detailed knowledge of the reality. It is not enough to know the religious rulings while being ignorant of the contexts in which they are applied. This is so that knowledge of the Sharia (definition) and knowledge of reality can be combined. Ibn al-Qayyim said: "If a judge is not jurisprudentially astute in signs and circumstantial evidence, as he is in the general rulings, he will squander rights. So, there are two types of jurisprudence that a judge must possess: jurisprudence in the general rulings concerning incidents, and jurisprudence in events and people's circumstances, by which he distinguishes between the truthful and the liar, the rightful and the false. Then he reconciles between these two, between what is real and what is obligatory, thereby assigning the real its ruling from what is obligatory." Therefore, in such matters, recourse should be made to the people of knowledge in each country, because they are more knowledgeable about the reality of their country and more informed about the course of affairs therein.
