What is the ruling regarding a girl marrying a man without the approval of her mother, who stipulated a deferred dowry and a list of movables to guarantee her daughter's rights, knowing that the girl did not try to reconcile with her mother before the marriage, and married without a deferred dowry or a list, and after her marriage, she sides with her husband who mistreats her mother?
The father of the girl, or his representative, is responsible for her marriage contract, followed by her closest male relatives ( 'asabat). It is not permissible for the mother to marry her off. If the father dies before the contract, her adult brother marries her off. If the father entrusted his brothers with marrying her off, their marriage is valid. The daughter moving to her father's house to get married is not an act of disobedience to her mother. Her consent to not having a deferred dower ( مؤخر الصداق) or a list of movables ( قائمة المنقولات) is permissible. However, her boycotting and abandoning her mother is an act of disobedience and one of the gravest sins. The phrase "as you judge, so shall you be judged" is a weak , but recompense is of the same nature as the deed, and repentance erases what came before it.
