Is it true that it was mentioned in the Qur'an and Sunnah that the entire woman is 'awrah?

The phrase "A woman is 'awrah" is not mentioned in the Quran, but rather in a hadith narrated by al-Tirmidhi from Abu Hurairah. This hadith does not demean women; instead, it encourages their concealment and protection. A woman's 'awrah in prayer is her entire body except for her face and hands. Outside of prayer, in front of non-mahram men, her entire body is 'awrah. In front of her mahrams, her entire body is 'awrah except for the extremities such as the head, forearms, and feet.
