Does a divorce take place by saying "The wife is divorced" with the intention of joking in order to retire from work, and not to divorce the wife?

Divorce does not occur with the statement "I divorced my wife" said jokingly. The prevailing opinion is that if someone falsely reports divorcing his wife, the divorce does not religiously occur. One should avoid joking with divorce pronouncements.
