Is it permissible for a father who is unable to slaughter to buy pre-cut meat weighing that of a sheep and distribute it to the poor with the intention of ʾUḍḥiyah?

It is preferable for the sacrificer to slaughter his sacrificial animal himself, following the example of the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him. If he is unable to do so, he may appoint a Muslim to slaughter it on his behalf. However, buying cut meat or a ready-slaughtered sheep from a butcher does not count as a valid sacrifice, because the shedding of blood in the sacrifice is required as an act of drawing closer to Allah, and because the sacrifice is an act of worship that requires intention when it is desired, and the meat bought from the butcher was not slaughtered with the intention of drawing closer through sacrifice.
