Is it obligatory to dispose of a decryption device that was used in an unlawful act after repentance and regret?

Glad tidings for the repentant, with what Allah promised in Surat Al-Furqan: "Except for those who repent, believe and do righteous deeds; for them Allah will change their evil deeds into good ones. And Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful." And in Surat Al-Baqarah: "Indeed, Allah loves those who repent and loves those who purify themselves." The one who repents from sin is like one who has no sin, and following a bad deed with a good one erases it. Among what helps in continuing repentance are keeping good company, seeking out scholars and attending their lessons, memorizing the Quran and Hadith, and reading the biography of the Prophet, the Companions, and the Successors to emulate them.
