Is it permissible to carry parts of the Holy Quran with the intention of reading?

There is no legal impediment to carrying the complete Mushaf or parts of it for reading and benefit, provided that its bearer is pure from both major and minor ritual impurity, if he is touching it directly. However, if it is in an item of luggage, purity is not a condition for carrying it. The evidence for the necessity of purity when touching the Qur'an is the saying of Allah the Almighty: "None touch it except the purified," and the saying of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him: "No one should touch the Qur'an except one who is pure."
