Is cutting hair (permissible)?

Hair on the human body is divided into three categories: 1. What the Lawgiver explicitly forbade removing: Such as the hair of the beard and eyebrows. The correct view is that it is forbidden to trim or shave the beard, except for what exceeds a fistful, which may be trimmed. As for trimming eyebrow hair, it is forbidden and falls under an-Nams (plucking), which is prohibited. 2. What the Lawgiver explicitly commanded to remove: Such as mustache hair. It is permissible to trim armpit and pubic hair, but it is preferable to shave the pubic hair and pluck the armpit hair. It should not be left for more than forty days. 3. The rest of the body hair which is overlooked: It is permissible to leave it, shave it, or trim it, such as hair on the chest, abdomen, and legs. As for a woman's head hair, it is permissible to trim it. For a man, it is permissible to shave it, trim it, or leave it. The Sunnah (definition) is for it to reach the earlobes, and if lengthened, then to the shoulders.

Al-Qaza' (shaving part of the hair and leaving the rest) is forbidden, as is trimming hair in an unusual manner or in a way that imitates disbelievers or immoral people.
