What is the ruling on Al-Qaza’? And what is its definition? Is lightly trimming the sides of the hair or tapering them considered forbidden? And must a man remove what has grown between his eyebrows?

Al-Qaza' (uneven haircut): Shaving part of the head and leaving another part, or shaving scattered areas of it. Jurists have agreed on its reprehensibility due to the Prophet's prohibition of it. Some, however, permitted al-qaza' for the forelock and the nape. Trimming or thinning the sides of the hair is not considered al-qaza' unless it involves imitating disbelievers or wicked people. As for removing hair between the eyebrows, there is no harm in it if it is separate from them. However, if it is connected to them, it is not permissible to remove it because it is part of them, and this falls under al-namas (plucking eyebrows), which is forbidden.
