Is there any consequence for reviling the religion of a Muslim if one does not intend the religion of Muslims but rather their group or family, and does the ruling on this differ between an ordinary person and someone afflicted with obsessive-compulsive disorder?

Cursing the religion of a Muslim is a major disbelief that expels one from the faith, whether the curser intended to curse the religion or not. Cursing the religion is mockery of it, and mockery of religion is disbelief. Sheikh Alish was asked about the ruling on one who curses another's religion or madhhab (school of thought). He replied that they have apostatized by doing so and deserve to be killed if they do not repent, because cursing the religion or madhhab only comes from a disbeliever, and because it is more severe than treating it with contempt, which necessitates disbelief.
