How can the hadiths indicating that women constitute the majority of the inhabitants of Hellfire, and that few women will enter Paradise, be reconciled with the hadiths stating that the best women of this Ummah will enter Paradise and that the number of women in Paradise will exceed that of men?

His (peace be upon him) saying: "Give in charity, for I have seen that you are the majority of the inhabitants of Hell," narrated by Bukhari and Muslim, and his (peace be upon him) saying: "And I saw the Fire, and I have never seen a sight more terrifying than what I saw today, and I saw that the majority of its inhabitants were women. They said: 'Why, O Messenger of Allah?' He said: 'Because of their ingratitude (kufr).' It was said: 'Their ingratitude to Allah?' He said: 'Their ingratitude to their spouses and their ingratitude for good deeds,'" agreed upon, and his (peace be upon him) saying: "No women shall enter Paradise except those among them who are like this raven among ravens," narrated by Ahmad, these hadiths indicate that the majority of the inhabitants of Hell are women.

As for the Hadith (definition) of Ibn Abbas, which isوقف عليه (a saying attributed to him and not directly to the Prophet): "Marry, for the best of this Ummah had the most women," there is no contradiction in it, because it indicates that abstaining from marriage is undesirable, and it has no relation to the issue of the majority of the inhabitants of Hell or Paradise.

As for the Hadith of Abu Hurairah in Sahih (definition) Muslim, which mentions that a man in Paradise will have two wives, it does not contradict the other hadiths, because women are the majority of the inhabitants of Hell and the majority of the inhabitants of Paradise. Qadi Iyad clarified that all of this refers to human women, otherwise, a man in Paradise will have a large number of houris.
