Allah, the Glorified and Exalted, is the All-Wise, the All-Knowing. His sayings, actions, creation, and governance all stem from knowledge and wisdom. He has linked these two Names in many verses. As for the number seven, it has a unique property and secret that recurs in the texts of revelation from the Quran and Sunnah, due to a wisdom known to those who know it and unknown to those who are ignorant of it. Ibn al-Qayyim mentioned in Zad al-Ma'ad that the property of seven occurred by divine decree and by divine law. Allah created the heavens as seven, and the earths as seven, and the days as seven, which indicates the specificity of this number. And Allah knows best the wisdom in His law and decree concerning the particularization of this number.
