Is it permissible for the husband's father to exchange medications dispensed to him by health insurance for other things that he or his children need, claiming that this is his right as long as he can obtain the monthly medication?

Many fatwas have been issued prohibiting health insurance due to its inclusion of consuming wealth unjustly (أكل المال بالباطل), ambiguity (gharar), and gambling (maysir). The father of the questioner's husband must repent to Allah and cancel the health insurance contract. He is only entitled to what he has paid in premiums. Anything in excess of that should be disposed of in charitable causes and for the general welfare of Muslims.
