Is the repeated return to a specific sin – masturbation – after sincere repentance from it, an indication of the non-acceptance of good deeds? And does it mean that one falls under the warning mentioned in: "If they are alone with the prohibitions of Allah, they violate them"? And does the previous repentance become void, and is accountability for what has passed also incurred? And what is the way to get rid of this sin?

We hope that you are not included in this threat, and we hope that Allah Almighty will benefit you with your good deeds in this world and the Hereafter, and that you will be among those who have mixed good deeds with bad ones. We advise you to continue performing good deeds and striving in obedience, and to struggle against your soul to abandon this sin, for good deeds erase bad deeds. If you are sincere in seeking refuge with Allah and struggling against your soul, He will assist and grant you success, for Allah accepts the repentance of a servant if he repents sincerely, even if the sin is repeated, and Allah erases previous sins through repentance. Do not despair of Allah's mercy and repeat your repentance with sincerity until He grants you sincere repentance.
