The husband has more authority over his wife than her parents, and her obedience to him takes precedence over her obedience to her parents. It is not permissible for the wife's family to interfere in her marital life except for reconciliation. It is not permissible for her to leave her husband's house except with his permission, unless she fears for herself, or seeks help from someone who can avert harm from her.
