Repetition in the Quran involves re-stating a word or phrase with multiple meanings, such as amplification, glorification, and emphasis. This is an aspect of eloquence, contrary to what some have denied. Repetition is divided into two types: repetition of both word and meaning (e.g., "Hayhāta hayhāta" - "Far, far away"), and repetition of meaning without the word (e.g., the stories of the prophets). There is no mere repetition in the Quran, for every repetition has benefits, including: affirmation (to establish the meaning in minds), emphasis, increased admonition, renewal of remembrance when speech is prolonged, and glorification and amplification, as in His (the Most High) saying: (Then which of the favors of your Lord will you deny?) and (Woe, that Day, to the deniers!).
