How is the 'Asr prayer shortened (qasr) in the event of performing the Friday prayer in congregation?

Shortening the 'Asr prayer is only permissible for a traveler, and a traveler is not obligated to attend the Friday prayer. If a traveler happens to encounter an established Friday prayer, he may pray it, and it will suffice for the Dhuhr prayer. He may also pray the 'Asr prayer with it, by joining it with the Friday prayer (Jam' Taqdeem), as two rak'ahs, after he has finished the Friday prayer.
