Is it permissible to demand a sum of money from the father or brother, or to deduct it from the inheritance, if the father had given one of the children a large sum during childhood?

A father must be just among his children in giving gifts, as the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Fear Allah and be just among your children."

However, it is permissible to prefer some of them over others for a legitimate Shariah reason, such as need, poverty, or illness.

If he does not act justly, he must give the remaining children the same amount he gave the first, or reclaim what he gave.

If the father dies without having been just, the other children have the right to demand that their brother share with them what he took.

Similarly, the one who was favored must share the wealth justly with his siblings.
