How many times is the remembrance of "There is no god but Allah alone, without partner. To Him belongs all sovereignty and praise, and He is over all things competent" recited in the morning and evening remembrances to be a protection from Satan? Is it recited 100 times at each time or 10 times? If it is 100 times, is that for the morning and evening separately or for the whole day, and can it be divided?

The saying "La ilaha illa Allah wahdahu la sharika lah..." (There is no god but Allah alone, without partner) has immense virtues. Among them: whoever says it in the morning will have the reward equivalent to freeing a slave, ten good deeds will be recorded for him, ten bad deeds will be removed from him, he will be elevated ten degrees, and he will be protected from Satan until evening. The same applies to whoever says it in the evening.

It is also encouraged to say it ten times after the Fajr and Maghrib prayers, and ten times after the Fajr prayer only, and one hundred times a day without being restricted to a specific time. Whoever says it one hundred times in a day will have the reward equivalent to freeing ten slaves, one hundred good deeds will be recorded for him, one hundred bad deeds will be removed from him, and it will be a protection for him from Satan on that day.

Whoever says it ten times after the Fajr or Maghrib prayer will have ten good deeds recorded for him, ten bad deeds removed from him, he will be elevated ten degrees, and it will be a shield for him from Satan and a protection from all harm, and he will be among the best of people in deeds. It appears that this virtue is attained by whoever acts upon any of these hadiths. The best is to persevere in completing the hundred, whether separately or combined, and that it be at the beginning of the day, along with perseverance in saying the ten times after Fajr and Maghrib.
