Is it permissible to pray Salatul-Istikhara before proceeding with divorce?

Divorce is the most hated of permissible acts to Allah, and the five rulings apply to it. Istikhara (seeking guidance from Allah) is performed for permissible divorce. This occurs when a man does not feel complete affection for his wife, making it permissible for him to divorce her. Before proceeding with the divorce, he should seek guidance from Allah by performing two rak'ahs of prayer and reciting the Istikhara supplication. He should also consult those he trusts. Then, he either divorces or refrains, based on what becomes apparent to him.
