The difference between fleeing and migrating is that fleeing is for the salvation of oneself and the avoidance of harm, whereas migration was for a greater purpose: establishing the state of Islam, spreading the call, and in response to Allah's command. It was not a quest for comfort but a prelude to immense effort and struggle. Allah Almighty associated migration with faith and jihad. The migrants were not all among the downtrodden; rather, they abandoned a life of ease seeking the pleasure of Allah and supporting His Messenger. There is no fault in fleeing from oppression, as did the Prophet of Allah, Moses, peace be upon him.
